Recycling at Dalys Electrical What can I recycle for free? We accept a wide range of electrical items for recycling, including: Large kitchen appliances - fridges, washing machines, dishwashers, cookers Small appliances - kettles, toasters, blenders, electric toothbrushes Household electronics - remote controls, bicycle lights Batteries - AA, AAA, C, D and button batteries (e.g. watches and toys) Please note: we do not accept industrial or car batteries. Do I need to make a purchase to recycle? No - you can recycle eligible items at our store even if you haven’t made a purchase with us. How do I return an item? You can bring your old electrical items directly to our store for recycling at no cost. Can you collect my old appliance? Yes - if you’re having a new appliance delivered by us, we can take your old one away for recycling. Please ensure the appliance is: Disconnected Clean Ready for collection at the time of delivery Is there a cost? No - recycling is completely free of charge when returned in-store or on a like-for-like basis with delivery. Why recycle with Dalys Electrical? We ensure all items are disposed of responsibly in line with environmental regulations, helping to reduce waste and conserve valuable resources. WEEE & Battery Recycling Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and batteries should never be placed in general waste or recycling bins. Under EU regulations: - You can return old electrical items free of charge on a like-for-like basis when purchasing a new product - Battery recycling bins are available in-store - Local authority recycling centres also accept WEEE and batteries free of charge - Environmental Management Costs (EMC) The following charges are included in the price of applicable products: Large refrigeration (e.g. American-style fridges) - €10.00 Smaller refrigeration units - €5.00 Large appliances (washing machines, dryers, cookers) - €5.00 Large TVs (73cm+) - €5.00 Gas discharge lamps - €0.15 LED light sources - €0.05 How does WEEE take-back work? When purchasing a new product, you can return an old item of a similar type on a one-for-one basis. For example, when buying a new washing machine, you can return your old washing machine free of charge.
